Overview

The Director of Advanced Analytics leads a team working directly with 360i clients, media teams, and account leadership to improve marketing programs’ performance using advanced analytics.  Analytics leadership responsibilities include driving product/service innovation, project management for major department initiatives, training other team members on innovative tools and techniques, and merchandising our offerings.

 

The Director role is hands-on transforming data, analysis and reporting into insights, recommendations, and results. The ideal candidate will go beyond reporting to peel away the layers of data and suggest informative marketing tests, new analytics engagement opportunities, and ways to improve business performance on a regular basis.

 

Collaboration is at the core of our business success, so the Advanced Analytics Director will need to create tightknit relationships with our clients to understand their business objectives, advise on KPIs, and develop actionable measurement plans. Then, the Director and his/her team will need to partner closely with Media and Account teams to deliver detailed performance insights and optimization recommendations powered by 360i products and services.

 

The ideal candidate for this role must have worked in a digital advertising environment, has expertise using sophisticated statistical and/or machine learning tools to develop multivariate statistical tests, time-series forecasts, and segmentation models to solve real-world business problems. S/he must be able to manage complicated projects involving multiple internal/external stakeholders and deliver high-quality work on-time. Advanced Excel, SQL, and digital media platform skills are essential. A curious, consultative mindset and the ability to effectively communicate technical work to non-technical audiences are also important.

Responsibilities

Work closely with clients to identify business needs and analytics opportunities, scoping customized analyses to drive marketing and business performance…

  • Utilize general business knowledge to understand marketing, pricing, operational, competitive challenges and opportunities
  • Delve into marketing plans, partners, and vendors to improve measurement frameworks and tracking implementations
  • Outline the benefits and tradeoffs of Multi-touch Attribution (MTA), Media Mix Modeling (MMM), and cross-device measurement techniques
  • Solve marketing problems by understanding and articulating the roles of Machine Learning and Statistical Modeling
  • Create business development strategies for existing clients and contribute significantly to new business pitches
  • Ensure that analytics teams continue to be seen as thought leaders who are proactively bringing new ideas to clients

 

Guide the creation of advanced reporting through automated processes to more efficiently consolidate data from a variety of internal, vendor, client, and application specific sources…

  • Utilize understanding of SQL to more efficiently organize and manage data warehousing
  • Access media platforms including Google Analytics, Omniture, Google AdWords, Kenshoo, Marin and DoubleClick to create customized reports and data pulls
  • Utilize SQL Scripts, APIs, and Excel Macros to dynamically update reports
  • Experience with R, Python, and/or cloud computing is preferred but not required

 

Improve the quality of reporting by creating easy to follow weekly or monthly dashboards that key stakeholders will utilize on a regular basis to make informed business decisions…

  • Utilize tools such as Excel and Tableau to pull data into custom charts and tables that draw attention to the most critical series of actionable business metrics

 

Increase Marketing ROIs by helping to improve brand and channel specific performance…

  • Increase Search performance by optimizing across Campaigns and Tactics
  • Increase Digital performance across Channels (Video, Banner, Programmatic, etc.), Campaigns, Audiences, Tactics, and Platforms

 

Manage MTA, forecasting, and other analytics services supporting a portfolio of accounts…

  • Provide ongoing analytical support using 360i MTA, forecasting, and other proprietary services to address client business needs
  • Present to clients and prospective clients on the value and results delivered by 360i analytics

Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant Media or Analytics experience
  • 4+ years of team leadership experience
  • MUST have experience working within a digital advertising environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on effectively presenting technical material to non-technical audiences
  • Understanding of digital media planning and buying with a focus on performance measurement
  • Exposure to mobile, social, tablet measurement approaches, as well as understanding of role of attribution and cross-device tracking
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to aggregate and visualize data from multiple sources
  • Advanced Excel and SQL skills for manipulating large data tables and creating custom queries
