Overall, this job is for someone who loves search, gets excited about seeing their team succeed, is a problem solver, and seeks out genuine partnerships with the team, the client, the department, and the agency. This person should excel at inspiring a team that is already running smoothly to work even better, both individually and collectively. This person is someone who doesn’t mind getting into the weeds but also can see the broader picture. The client is in the education vertical, providing people the ability to get a master’s degree from prestigious institutions so the outcome of your work will be new nurses, social workers, and physical therapists. In other words, if making a positive difference is a priority for you, this would be a good fit. At the same time, this is a performance account and the client is quite sophisticated, meaning the work must meet high standards. Their business is growing rapidly which creates unique challenges both internally and with the client, so this person should be excited about being tested and about tackling difficult problems such as creating operational efficiencies through stronger processes and empowering a large team to create positive change. This person will also need to have a deep understanding the client’s business, including competition and issues/opportunities in the category. Ultimately this person will be seen internally as an approachable, adaptive leader and by the client as a trusted advisor that shows superior expertise and judgment.


  • Own media strategy.
  • Own client relationship.
  • Spearhead innovation for a client that has been with us for multiple years and still looks for new ideas to drive their business forward.
  • Lead clients, provide counter-points, and devise arguments and selling strategies.
  • Directly responsible for development of at least three supervisors and have an influence on a team of more than 10.
  • Collaborate with the account team and analytics team, balancing the needs of the client with the needs of the team to ensure a “one team” mentality.
  • Stay close enough to the work to be able to assist when more junior team members need help.
  • Mentor and effectively influence behavior through creative and effective use of positive and negative feedback.
  • Responsible for elevating the paid search practice (e.g., sharing advanced tactics with other teams, presenting at cross-office meetings, mentoring junior employees not on your direct team)
  • Develop followers and inspire team to everyone’s boundaries.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8 or more years of digital media experience
  • Deep expertise in SEM, as well as a strong understanding of other channels including programmatic, display, paid social, and others.
  • Able to navigate and speak to the complexities of the digital media landscape across disciplines, without necessarily needing to be an expert in each discipline. Is relied upon to confidently and proactively speak to the value and when to apply each.
  • Strong holistic digital media understanding.
  • Aligned to signature effort(s) that pushes the agency forward and closer to long term goals.
  • Regularly contribute to thought leadership blog, speaking engagements, and client events. Good communicator and presenter.
