The Supervisor, Integrated Media is a base-level management position. This position is responsible for ensuring that communications strategies are effectively translated into plans and for leading the development and implementation of those plans. The Supervisor, Integrated Planning partners with the Associate Director to set the strategic tone for the assigned accounts. The Supervisor, Integrated Media assists in the creation of all important plans and presentations. The Supervisor, Integrated media is expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media space (including digital media) and available media research. The Supervisor will be responsible for managing junior team members and developing their integrated planning and activation knowledge– developing their skills, evaluating their performance and managing their growth. In addition to the core account assignments, the Supervisor is expected to take part in larger areas of agency development – aiding with new business pitches, committees and task forces. This role is a step toward greater leadership within the communications planning group and the agency overall.


Communications Planning, Media Activation and Execution:


·          Work with senior team members to set communications objectives and strategies

·          Develop ability to independently manage all aspects of the brand, while briefing the Associate Communications Planning Director or Communications Planning Director on key happenings and issues

·          Support Associate/Communications Planning Director in the collection and evaluation of syndicated consumer and media consumption information

·          Provides relevant insight and input into existing and emerging media opportunities (thorough awareness of available media and marketing services vendors)

·          Leverages thorough understanding of the client’s media AOR and Reach-Based planning process and procedures to help achieve communications planning objectives and optimize media investment

·          Oversees the consistent reporting of competitive market/media information for each brand/category

·          Participate in and lead both traditional and digital media activations

·          Work with senior team members to set cross channel activation and negotiation strategies

·          Develop plan negotiations with vendors

·          Act as final resource for all inventory, billing and invoice discrepancies

·          Ensure constant communication between various other creative teams and ensure activation processes align with other teams/brands

·          Work with internal channel teams to develop and maintain timelines for all activation projects

·          Balance, prioritize and properly assign work associated with multiple, concurrent projects

·          Serve as a resource for Associates and Assistants for advice, counsel and mentorship


Client & Internal Relationships:


·          Maintain client relationships at appropriate levels for all buy/activation details

·          Understand the client’s needs

·          Manage expectations of clients

·          Grows business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate

·          Have a thorough understanding of all elements of the brand

·          Drives savings for business through strong negotiations

·          Sometimes leads face to face client and publisher meetings

·          Participates and presents in New Business efforts and presentations, where appropriate

·          Establishes strong internal relationships with other 360i teams


Strategic Thinking & Leadership:


·          Works with management team (AMD/Director) to develop strategies for media/digital buys

·          Strategizes ways to use most effectively media dollars to the greatest benefit for our clients

·          Provide thought leadership for clients and develop POVs for client review throughout the year

·          Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner

·          Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate

·          Guide team members to nurture/promote team environment

·          Assist in the training of junior team members

·          May be responsible for working with AMD to develop and oversee junior staff- manage time, assure projects are completed on time and adhered to (within) budget

·          May be responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents

·          Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them


Communications Skills:


·          Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications

·          Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner

·          Is comfortable contributing to and/or writing presentations in Powerpoint

·          Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially

·          Assists in the development of media presentations

·          Develop client reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive

·          Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 -7 years communications/media planning experience
  • Experience in traditional marketing and current knowledge of trends and innovations in traditional and digital media
  • Experience creating and selling media programs
  • Ability to articulate strategic foundation for their development
  • Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven leadership skills and management experience
  • Beauty and or CPG experience preferred
