The Analyst,  Audience & Media Insights is to assist in analyzing and identifying key marketplace / consumer and media insights by using syndicated, primary and other research resources to make actionable recommendations for client groups and new client prospects.


Consumer Insights and Research Planning and Execution:

  • Compiling, analyzing and interpreting information from various research sources (syndicated, client provided, primary, etc.)
  • Use insights to develop opportunities for significant and meaningful connections within the communication planning process
  • Provide marketplace and target insight support to Client Service teams
  • Advise on target development and work with media groups to find and analyze appropriate research sources
  • Help answer ad hoc client media research questions reflective of business challenges and needs
  • Help manage Vizeum’s proprietary consumer research study (CCS) - managing the implementation and delivery of the benchmark/  recontact studies
  • Primary contact with vendors (eg. Nielsen, Telmar)
  • Develop ways to analyze/showcase consumer insights in a creative way
  • Participate in the development of proprietary tools, techniques and procedures leading to more strategic and insight-based communication plans
  • Assist in designing survey questions, programming questionnaires and analyzing results
  • Develop, write and manage Insight department releases and initiatives (e.g. one sheets, newsletter, etc.)
  • Keep up-to-date on current marketing/consumer/media trends
  • Integration of work with digital/strategy/media teams


Client & Internal Relationships:

  • May manage day-to-day client interaction
  • May manage expectations of clients and deliverables
  • Assist Supervisor in advising clients on best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing programs
  • Assist Supervisor in growing business opportunities within current clients
  • Keeps up with the latest trends in media
  • May be responsible for informing team/client of new opportunities or issues
  • Participates and leads, if appropriate, face to face client and vendor meetings
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external teams and sets good example for assistant level


Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
  • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate
  • Provide guidance to team members nurture/promote team environment
  • Assist in the training of junior team members
  • May be responsible for working with supervisor to develop and oversee junior staff- manage time, assure projects are completed on time and adhered to (within) budget
  • May be responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents
  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them


Communications Skills:

  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
  • Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner
  • Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially
  • Assists in the development of presentation materials that are clear, compelling and persuasive
  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • 2-5 years experience in media planning, consumer research, account planning, marketing, or media research
  • Ability to understand a request for data and formulate the necessary steps to fulfill request
  • Strong mathematical skills set and interest level
  • Curiosity, enthusiasm, initiative and ability to learn a wide array of research applications
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and present well-considered ideas and solutions
  • Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment; can adapt plans due to changes in client objectives, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to relate results to client business objectives
  • Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively
  • Experience with MRI, Simmons or Mendelsohn
  • Experience with online research tools such as Nielsen, @Plan, AdRelevance, etc. a plus
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
