  • Overview

    The Social Marketing Strategist will sit within the Social Marketing team, report to the Social Strategy leadership (with a dotted line reporting structure into strategy), retain and focus management skills by training interested junior Social Marketing talent and oversee/be accountable for the work coming from Social Strategy trainees.

    Responsibilities

    • Be the strategic voice in any conversation related to social marketing, community management, social platforms, paid social, social content strategy, social comms planning, and influencer marketing.
      • “Voice” is meant to mean: Thought leadership, presentation creation & delivery, meeting attendance, etc.
    • Write creative briefs related to social-specific campaigns: Social content, influencer marketing, bigger non-content social campaign ideation. Brief in creative teams and social platforms and partner with them in the creative process.
    • Own and execute research to inform social-specific briefs and other strategic thinking, including: third-party research; working with the Insights & Planning team; “skunk works” ethnographies, etc.
      • Accompany/assist partner strategists on the account on more traditional research projects such as focus groups and/or data analysis
    • Create social content strategies and communications plans for social-related activations.
    • Create & deliver social strategy presentations to clients; sell in work and thinking.
    • Own storytelling aspect of social reporting, working closely with Social Marketing, Insights, & Analytics teams to pull everything together.
    • Strong demonstrated strategic thinking skills, including:
      • Connecting dots between strategy, idea, tactic; culture, consumer, brand; etc.
      • Finger on the pulse of technology innovations, social platforms & their future, and consumer media habits
    • Understanding the broader marketing & communications mix, traditional & non-traditional channel planning and social’s role
    • Interest in and demonstrated existing skills in content strategy & communications planning
    • Strong client-facing experience and a demonstrated ability to gain client trust
    • Strong presentation & storytelling skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be a connective force amongst various discipline groups
    • Existing design & presentation (deck) development skills a plus

    Qualifications

    • Working 3-5 years in the digital space
    • Strong demonstrated strategic thinking skills, including:
      • Connecting dots between strategy, idea, tactic; culture, consumer, brand; etc.
      • Finger on the pulse of technology innovations, social platforms & their future, and consumer media habits
    • Understanding the broader marketing & communications mix, traditional & non-traditional channel planning and social’s role
    • Interest in and demonstrated existing skills in content strategy & communications planning

    • Strong presentation & storytelling skills
